MISSION AND VISION

Electrical

New Education for the Workplace (NEWCorp) is a nonprofit corporation that promotes quality career technical and academic education through professional development and educational management services.

MISSION

The mission of NEWCorp is to advance the vocational and career technical education and training of young men and women. NEWCorp guides, directs, manages, operates, and promotes charter schools.

VISION

NEWCorp’s vision is that all young people can have access to quality technical education in order to become functioning contributors within their communities. To ensure quality education, NEWCorp emphasizes innovative classroom environments, professional development for all staff, and the development of strategic partnerships.

NEWCorp and SIATech

NEWCorp has more than ten years of successful experience supporting accredited SIATech high schools  at 15 Job Corps centers nationwide. SIATech is the high school that awards more than a third of all the high school diplomas earned by Job Corps graduates on its more than 120 centers nationwide. Over 10,500 Job Corps students have graduated from SIATech programs with a high school diploma since the SIATech program was established in 1998.

NEWCorp and Professional Development

NEWCorp offers a research-based professional development program that is second to none. Inspired by the work of Ron Edmonds and Robert Marzano (Effective Schools) Peter Senge (The Fifth Discipline), Stephen Covey (7 Habits of HighlyEffective People), Reuven Feuerstein (MediatedLearning), and Michael Fullan (LearningCommunities),  we are committed to providing on going training and professional development opportunities for staff.  Trainings will include Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, Focus Training for Time Management, Classroom Management, Teaching Strategies for diverse populations, Mediated Learning for Special Needs Populations, applied academics, and Leadership Training.  Teaching strategies and induction are based on the National Professional Teaching Standards (NPTS) and are part of a comprehensive, state certified teacher training program developed by SIATech and in use at all SIATech sites.

Through the Reaching At-Promise Students Association (RAPSA) , NEWCorp's vast experience in training instructional staff extends to hundreds of educators who serve students in need.

Testimonials

After working in the public schools for many years, I find working with at-promise students has been the most rewarding part of my teaching career. The best part of my job is seeing the number of gains that my students have earned and then seeing them graduate
