Reflections on the Job Corps and NEWCorp partnership

"My experience with the Job Corps and NEWCorp partnership has been quite positive. I introduced myself to the Job Corp staff in a one on one basis. Each and every one of them told me how Job Corps works and I listened to them as I would to friends. We are in it together, so to speak, and the feeling is that we are successful together."

Why the program works for our students

"The most rewarding aspect of this position is the success of the students who pass their GED exams that didn’t think it possible. We do this as a team and it has been successful. These students don’t feel like they are entering the exam alone."

Testimonials

The students need to know that you care, but they don't want to feel like your project.  I offer procedures to the students that are reasonable and that maintain high expectations.  With this out of way, I can relate to them as a person without confusing work and play.  They do very well with this environment.
